Self-energy consumption building which fights strong wind easily.

Status: proposal
From the designer;
Mbeya is one of the fast growing cities in Tanzania, but it lacks some important facilities to match with the growth. Mbeya city lacks enough housings, markets, offices and good infrastructures. The proposed building is the office block so as to minimize the scarcity of office rentable spaces. The building will be located in Mwanjelwa area in a challenging site of 15metre by 45metre.
The designer philosophy behind the building is:-
A Self-energy consumption building, by the conversion of energy from nature specifically from:-
The structure has eight stories which make it the tallest building in the particular area, that will perform well and fight winds and sun effects from both sides; as the site receives prevailing winds from south east and north east, with the average Wind speed of 4.2m/s 15km/h 9m/h.
The interesting fact about this building is that it can fight wind with less effort from its structure, because many of the straight tall buildings experience a wind nightmare. The Occupants of tall buildings claims that sometimes they see the horizon moves due to strong winds which act to the building. The problem with a flush tall box form is that, it is weak in wind action, it can bend easily.
The proposed building will minimize the wind action for about 90%. It is the box form structure which rise from the ground, but in each floor there are outward projecting parts of the floor. These projecting floors act as wind breakers.
Not only the prevailing winds from south east and north east that can be break, but from all sides since the projecting floors are in both sides. The projecting floor also contains functions within, so no space will be wasted. The top of each projecting floor is used as a balcony on a consecutive floor. The roof is flat with solar panels and wind turbine so as to use sun and wind effects as sources of energy in the building. This makes it the first building in Tanzania to have wind turbine in it.
