Lacation: Mwanjelwa, Mbeya
Designer: Ramson Sanford
Status: proposal
The aim of the designer was to design a high tech building which will be composed of pharmaceutical activities at the ground floor, offices from first floor to fourth floor and apartments from fifth floor to the seventh floor, so the building has eight floors. Apart from its high tech services the building is designed to catch the eyes of the watchers, good in workability & sustainable.
The building is designed to make the Architectural revolution in Mbeya, which is more colonial. The proposed building will be the tallest building in Mbeya. The building will provide the new Architecture to the city, new sense of public space, and it will be the pride of Mbeya. The floors were arranged in an unusual way, it is like the arrangement of blocks by a baby boy. There is staggered arrangement of floors from ground floor-up, which kill the monotony of the structure.
There are double leafs in this structure, where by the inner part contain of masonry wall with normal sliding windows and the outer leaf which contains alucobond with unusual openings. The alucobond in outer leaf has a photovoltaic façade which help in conservation of heat energy into electricity. Also there are hydroponic walls in office spaces which help to clean the air within spaces.
