Furniture arrangement in a living room.
Living room is a meeting place of the house, it connects the outside and the inside of the house. Often it is the first place the guest sees when entering the building. It is the most crowded area of the house, so it needs more attention and comfortability in its design.
The arrangement of furniture in a living room is vital regarding of the type of furniture, size, color or texture. If the arrangement is poor, then obvious that living room will bore no matter the quality of furniture. Here are some tips to follow in awesome arrangement of furniture;
1. Organizational form
The furniture in the room must bring a sense of organization. A living room is the place where people meet for conversation, watching TV and other social activities. Furniture must be arranged well to promote those social activities to perform well. Furniture must be arranged so that people can see each other from any position, this will bring the sense of socialization in a living room.
2. Don’t block the passage
During the arrangement of furniture is better not to block the passages around. The furniture should never placed along the entry door or entrance foyer, this is why lounges should not have a direct access from the entrance. If the passage is at the middle of the living room then that is poor arrangement. The circulation around the house should never put across the lounge, if it is, then the arrangement of furniture have to avoid the circulation route.
3. Consider the focal point
Any room has the focal point, in a living room, a focal point can be a TV place, window, fireplace etc. This focal point is the most seen part of the room. Furniture must be arranged to integrate well with the focal point. The focal point in a living room must be seen well from all angles of the room. All people in a living room must see clearly the focal point.
4. Don’t hide building components or decorations.
The building components such as windows should not be hide by furniture. The windows were designed to bring light inside, if they are blocked by furniture they won’t perform well. Also furniture should be arranged so that they don’t hide decoration items, such as flower pots, statues, pictures etc. These items were placed for decorations and they must be seen, so the arrangement of furniture should not disturb their visibility.
